A slightly different approach to linking to a forum, I thought I would just take the opportunity to show you the guidelines and rules of the SASMOD forums.

I will also introduce you to the forums format and rank system.

To enter the forums click the image below:

Alternatively for future visits you can click the forums banner on the left navigation frame to get instant access to the forums.

I don't want to linger on this subject for too long. Please act like mature adults and respect other peoples opinions.

Below are some guidelines you should read and adhere to and make using the forums enjoyable for everyone. We are not responsible for the content of  posts, the posts express the views of the author only. We reserve the right however, to remove posts that we deem break our forum Rules & Regulations and the Terms & Conditions you agreed to when joining the forum.
Below is a list of guidelines that members should take into consideration when posting post on the forums, read them and become familiar with them.

Forum Rules & Regulations

  • Before posting in the forums make sure you are not duplicating posts made by other users. We are using forum software that has a search facility - please ensure you use it.
  • Always Ensure you post in the relevant board of the forums. It is advisable to read board descriptions to ensure you are posting in the correct place
  • Members should be as descriptive as possible when filling out the subject field of a topic. A Subject titled "Problems with ArmA install" is far more descriptive and useful than simply naming a topic "Help!"
  • Avoid becoming a "backseat moderator"; if a member has an issue that they feel deserves a moderators attention then notify a moderator. Having members acting as moderators only adds to the potential of a flame war.
  • You are asked to respect the copyright of other members and copyrights in general. Any post suspected of containing copyrighted material will be deleted.
  • The Administrator and Moderators on this forum do not tolerate spam under any circumstances. Offending posts will be deleted and the author publicly warned. Repeat offenders risk being banned.
  • Discussing illegal activities such as software piracy is strictly forbidden, post will be removed and authors warned or banned accordingly
  • Respect other members, anyone seen to be intentionally posting abusive or insulting remarks or purposely flaming other members will be warned or banned accordingly. This includes any offences via the PM facility.
  • Offering company services, employment opportunities, and company advertising in general is looked upon as spamming and will be dealt with accordingly. Specific cases could be considered but permission from an Admin must be obtained prior to posting.
  • Respect the Administrator and Moderators on these forums. They go that extra mile to make sure the forums run smoothly and spend time ensuring that all members enjoy their stay.
  • Avoid posting inappropriate and potentially offending material on the forums. This includes but does not stop at vulgarity, pornography & extremely violent or shocking media.
  • If forum staff have to edit, lock or delete a post DO NOT create another post asking "why?", This is non-constructive and will no doubt lead to that post also being deleted. In this situation contact a member of staff.
  • Racism is not tolerated - Full stop, anyone found to be making racist posts will have the post removed and face a warning or ban.
  • Be sensible with sizes when posting images, I have not put any size constraints on images yet but constant abuse by posting large images will result in posts being deleted and size constraints implemented. If an image is too large simply link to it.
  • Be aware that all avatars and signatures fall under the same ruling as posts so avoid using inappropriate content in them.
  • Having more than one account on these forums is not permitted, anyone found to have registered with more than one account will have all additional accounts deleted and a warning or ban will be issued.
  • The Admin staff reserve the right to change the forum Rules & Regulations as they deem fit without prior notice being given.

Warnings and Bans
  • The forum Admin and Moderators will usually give a warning to members before a temporary or permanent ban is given however, depending on the severity of the case a ban may be issued without an official warning.
  • The forum Admin and Moderators always use discretion when dealing with warnings or bans however, we do reserve the right to warn, temporary ban or permanently ban users at any time.
  • If a member is subject to a warning or ban and feel they are being treat unfairly feel free to contact the site administrator who will review the case. That isn't to say the decision will be reversed but it will be given further attention.
  • Members who try to gain access to the forums during a ban by registering under a different username, email or IP will have more serious action taken against them.

Due to the nature of the forums and our inability to foresee all circumstances and eventualities, the administrator reserves the right to amend the Rules & Regulation accordingly without prior notice being given to members.

Overall the forums are here to be enjoyed, they are a critical link between addon makers and the ArmA community. My moderators and myself will allow `bad behaviour` to an extent but don't push your luck, we will not tolerate it excessively. Warnings/temp-bans/perm-bans WILL be given to offenders.

Lastly, enjoy the forums. I look forward to reading your constructive input.

As with most forums, we have a dedicated forum staff who are identifiable by the images and title in thier profile. please respect thier postion within the forums - they are doing the job for a reason!

Below are the titles and associated images of the forum staff and VIP members:

Administrators

Have overall control of the forums and can access all areas.

Senior Project Team

Overlook the recruiting and work allocation of the Project Team. They will also be developers themselves or have some input into the development process.

Project Team

Project Team status is given to anyone who is found suitable after a recruitment process. All Developers will have volunteered to contribute in some way towards creating SASMOD addons.

Global moderators

Have access to most of the forums, they have permissions which will allow them to ban members if needed. They can keep the forums running short-term if an admin is not available

Moderators

Moderator status is assigned to members who have shown good leadership and judgment on the forums. A member who constantly goes off-topic or starts off-topic threads is not an ideal candidate for moderator.

VIP

VIP members are people who dont quite fall into the above catagories. They are given permissions that will allow them access to `non-public` areas of our forums. VIP status is given for a number of reasons, too many and too diverse to mention here but all will ultimately contribute to the development of SASMOD addons.

When you register at SASMOD forums initailly you will start out as the new boy! Dont worry - the more input you have here the more your post count will rise and eventually you will be promoted. However, beware - spamming the forums with the sole intention of getting promoted will lead to having your post count reduced or even worse being banned!

Some members will be allowed to beta-test future addons if they show the right type of attitude in the forums.

Below are the titles and associated images of forum members:

Class 4, class 3, Class 2 & Class 1 Privates (Troopers)

As in real life you will wear no badge of rank.

Lance Corporal

Corporal

Sergeant

Staff Sergeant

Sergeant major (WO2)

Quartermaster Sergeant (WO2)

Regimental Sergeant Major (WO1)
