We are recruiting for Armed Assault projects, see our recruitment page or visit the forums for more info...

The aim of the Special Air Service Module (SASMOD) is to create realistic and authentic UK Special Forces units for Armed Assault. As well as the units, we will also provide the weapons, vehicles and equipment to accompany them.

Some units you can expect to see from us are the Special Air Service, her sister unit the SBS, the Special Forces Support Group and Special Reconnaissance Regiment. In addition to the models themselves, we are also planning on creating terrain based on real world locations derived from Digital Elevation Models imported into the Engine.

With quite a few years real life military experience behind our project our ultimate aim is a high level of accuracy on all content developed. We will most certainly aim for quality rather than quantity.

The SASMOD project is not a full modification of ArmA, but rather an addon module containing everything you need to experience life as a UK special forces soldier without having to pass selection!

• General update..
11 Jan 07

Armed Assault hit the shelves a month or two ago and many of us have now got our hands on a copy of it. Nothing really constructive can be done as yet until the updated tools are released but at least it has given us a chance to look at what ArmA is like and help us plan our future addons a little better.

Since the last news post we have had two new members join the team. Moskow joined us to help with research and reference gathering and Emperor_Koch joined us in the role of 2D/3D Artist. I am sure they will both be invaluable to the project and look forward to working more with them.

We were also one of the first to release an addon for ArmA - two infact! I managed to quickly convert our NATO map symbol packs 1 & 2 over for the ArmA community. Not exactly new addons for SASMOD but it got our foot in the ArmA door. You can visit our downloads page to get the ArmA mapsymbols.

The WebPages will also be getting spruced up over the coming weeks with more info on our planned addons being updated; this will be ongoing so please keep checking back to see what's new. We will endeavour to get pics out of some of our planned work soon. Obviously work will more than likely need a lot of attention but until we get our hands on the tools, we don't want to spend hours on models that may need re-doing!

As stated before, because I don't get to spend much time adding news to the site it won't get updated often. To keep right up to date on what we are doing please visit our forums. This is the main link between us and the community so please take a couple of minutes to register and give us your feedback.

As always, thank you for your continued support of our project.
